ASBI Mishmar is an after-school Judaic studies enrichment program on Thursdays (4 - 6 PM) for children in grades 3-8. The purpose of this program is to introduce our synagogue’s youth to a culture of extra-curricular Jewish learning that can last them a lifetime and to reinforce and develop proficiencies in the tools and joys of Torah study. If you have questions about whether this program is the right fit for your child, do not hesitate to reach out to Rabbanit Sarna or Rabbi Wolkenfeld.
The program’s schedule is designed to take advantage of parental interest in after-school programming. We will pick children up from local bus stops (CTA, school bus) around 4:00 PM and bring them to ASBI. There, mixed in with snacks and mincha, the afternoon will be spent in two sessions of study on different age-appropriate Torah subject matter, wrapping up with 6:00 PM pick-up. Middle School students and Upper Elementary School students will be studying in separate classes. One of these sessions will be taught by Rabbi Aryeh Bernstein, the other will be taught by either Rabbi Wolkenfeld or Rabbanit Sarna.
The second semester of Mishmar will begin on February 13th. If you have already signed up for the full year, you do not need to re-register. If you are unsure whether you are registered or not, please be in touch with Rabbanit Sarna (rabbanit@asbi.org).
We are committed to making the costs of this program work for any ASBI family, and we hope that those who believe in this program might be able to help subsidize the costs for others by signing up to be a sponsor.
After you fill out the form below, you will be directed to a payment page. On that page you can set up an automatic payment plan if you choose to pay in installments instead of a lump sum.
