The Zohar is the foundational text of the Jewish mystical tradition. We'll read some parts of the Zohar together and learn more about how this text has shaped Jewish prayer, customs, and thought throughout the ages.

Jeremy Phillip Brown is Jordan H. Kapson Assistant Professor of Theology at University of Notre Dame, specializing in medieval Judaism. He completed his BA in Religion at Reed College, and earned his doctorate in Hebrew and Judaic Studies at New York University. Brown taught at the University of San Francisco and served as Simon and Ethel Flegg Postdoctoral Fellow in Jewish Studies at McGill University in Montreal.
