In ancient times, the entirety of the Jewish people were encouraged to gather in Jerusalem to hear the Torah being read over Sukkot after a shemitah year such as this one. We will think together about what this mitzvah accomplished and how it can inspire and guide our own gatherings and feelings of communal unity.
