Parent Education Workshop: Helping your child with the transition back to school

Sunday, August 17, 2014 21 Av 5774

7:00 PM - 7:45 PMASBI Social Hall

Going back to school can be filled with many emotions. After a summer of relaxed daily routines, children must adapt again to the more structured schedule that school demands as well as possible anxiety about school expectations and social interactions, but parents can help children with this transition.

In this workshop, we will discuss techniques and strategies to help your child with this transition and make it as smooth as possible for everyone in the family.

The workshop will be run by Amy Pappas, LCSW. Amy is a child, adolescent, and family therapist with over a decade of experience of working with school age children on a wide range of topics including behavior management, mood disorders, and life transitions. Her experience includes working at Children’s Memorial Hospital Psychiatry Department and Rush Therapeutic Day School as well as many other school settings. Her private practice is located in Lakeview.

This is a free workshop, but please register in advance.

For more information and to register call or email Amy Pappas, LCSW, at 773-340-1450 or amypappaslcsw@gmail.com. You can also visit Amy’s website at: amypappaslcsw.com.
