Mindfulness 101 for Children and Families

Monday, July 6, 2020 14 Tammuz 5780

8:00 PM - 9:00 PM

What is mindfulness, and why is it important? Join Rachel Slutsky for a discussion and practice session. We will explore and practice various techniques including breathing exercises, progressive muscle relaxation, and guided imagery meditation stories. The techniques are geared toward children and those who work with them, but may prove helpful for those ages 2 to adult.

Rachel Slutsky is a school social worker at the Chicago campus of Hyde Park Day School, a small school for students with learning challenges. She regularly incorporates mindfulness techniques with her students and colleagues at school, the students and families she works with as a b’nai mitzvah tutor at ASBI, and her three children at home.
