Women's Tu Bishvat Seder
Wednesday, February 4, 2015 • 15 Shevat 5775
8:00 PM - 9:30 PMASBI Social HallTu Bishvat is the New Year of the Trees. At a time when nothing is growing we eat dried fruits and show our gratitude for everything that will grow when spring begins.
The Tu Bishvat seder, a practice which was developed by Rabbi Isaac Luria in 16th century Safed, has in modern times developed into a festive, ritual meal for celebrating nature.
Join us as Devorah Schoenfeld, an Assistant Professor of Theology at Loyola, leads us through the Tu Bishvat Seder. We will drink four cups of white and red wine, eat many different kinds of fruits, and look at different Jewish ways of thinking about and appreciating the world.
$5 in advance (RSVP by February 2) or $10 at the door.
Sorry, Registration has ended.
