Third Meal Resource Roundup: Ezra

This week, during Third Meal, we will hear from Sarah Greenberg, the Assistant Director of Ezra, and Community Outreach Coordinator Sarah Sheek. Please join us to learn the many ways Ezra helps members of the Jewish community and the various ways we can help support their tikkun olam.

Ezra's services strive to prevent homelessness, alleviate hunger, reduce isolation, and mitigate other self-sufficiency barriers for those on the north side of Chicago as well as Russians and Jews in the wider Chicagoland area. In addition, Ezra offers social activities and holiday celebrations to ensure that Jews who live in poverty remain actively connected to their heritage. If you or anyone you know is in need of services, please call the Ezra front desk at 773-275-0866.

EZRA has volunteer opportunities including: the JUF Uptown Cafe meals program, Emergency and Financial Services, food and hygiene pantries, Chevrah Jewish Programming and Ezra’s Russian Senior Center. Ezra is also engaged in legislative advocacy for the issues that matter to our clients.

To learn more about volunteering with Ezra, please contact Sarah Sheek, Community Outreach Coordinator at 773-467-3851. If you’d like to volunteer with ASBI at Uptown Café, contact Herb Eiseman at 773-255-6481 or herbstours@me.com.
