What Are Our Responsibilities?
Join the Social Action Committee and Jewish Council on Urban Affairs to learn more this Shabbat, July 29, at Shalosh Seudot.
Many of us employ domestic workers to help raise our children, maintain our homes, take care of our parents, and more. Here's an opportunity to reflect on the situation of our domestic workers and how we can ensure their proper treatment.
Come learn with the Jewish Council on Urban Affairs about the
Domestic Worker Bill of Rights. After a five-year campaign, The
Domestic Worker Bill of Rights became law in the State of Illinois,
extending basic workplace protections to domestic workers and
ensuring that this workforce enjoys the protections that all other workers have. JCUA was part of the coalition that helped to pass the law and is deeply invested in the implementation of the new protections. Learn more about the legislation and discuss why this issue is important to us.
