  Professor Amos Guiora from the University of Utah’s S.J. Quinney College of Law will speak about the defense of human rights in Israel, the evolution of the rules of war and international law, and the political and legal impact of the recent Goldstone report. Professor Guiora is a widely-cited expert on the legal aspects of counterterrorism, terror financing, international law and morality in armed conflict. Professor Guiora served for 19 years in the Israel Defense Forces Judge Advocate General’s Corps, where he held a number of senior command positions, including Commander of the IDF School of Military Law, Judge Advocate for the Navy and Home Front Command, and the Legal Advisor to the Gaza Strip.
