Halacha of the Week #6

When three women eat together at a meal where less than three men are present, they may, and some say they must (GR”A), lead their own zimmun for Birkat Hamazon. If there are three men present, then the women are obligated to participate in the zimmun of the men, rather than break off into their own group. When there is a women's zimmun, the men at the table may answer, just as women answer to a men's zimmun. (Shulchan Aruch 199:7)
