Halacha of the Week #17

Pareve food that is made in dairy or fleishig pots is still considered fully pareve, as long as the pots were not used within the past 24 hours. If it was cooked in a dairy pot, or fleishig pot, that was used in the past 24 hours, it still will not make you fleishig of milchig, but it should not be eaten together with meat or dairy, respectively. It may be eaten immediately after meat or dairy. For example, if one makes a pareve cake in a dairy pan, which was used to make a dairy cake within 24 hours before, one may serve it for dessert after a meat meal, as long as all the meat is cleared from the table.
